Prince Rupert is located on the Pacific Ocean in the northwest corner of Prince Rupert British Columbia. Situated on Kaien Island, the city is surrounded by ocean, rainforest and mountains. Prince Rupert is one of Canada's major seaports. Forestry, fishing and tourism are the major industries for this city of 16,000. The city has a variety of attractions and activities for the visitor. Tour one of the many museums. The Museum of Northern British Columbia exhibits the ancient and modern First Nations history of the region. The North Pacific Historical Fishing Village is BC’s oldest surviving salmon cannery featuring live performances and tours.Visit the quaint Cow Bay area with its many gift shops and restaurants or just sit and enjoy the terrific ocean view.

Transportation to Prince Rupert is provided by Air Canada and HawkAir airlines. Via Rail offers regular daylight only service aboard the Skeena between Rupert and Jasper with an Mountain overnight stop in Prince George three times a week. The BC Ferry Corporation sails every other day from Port Hardy on Vancouver Island. This is a very scenic 15 hour daylight trip. Deer

Land access via the Yellowhead Highway is a spectacular drive. The road between Terrace and Prince Rupert has been given a five star rating by the Michelin guide and it is easy to see why as you drive along the Skeena River past cascading waterfalls, snow capped mountains and the occasional bear.
