Albacore II Charters Wilderness Excursions
A secret world of spectacular scenery, diverse marine life and abundant wildlife

Grizzlies are best viewed in the month of May. It’s an incredible sight to watch these large animals as they emerge from the forest to feed on sedge grass. Black Bears may be seen all summer long but are best viewed during July and August. The bears scoop the salmon out of the water as they try to get upstream to spawn. Kermode Bears are also known as the Great Spirit Bear. This white bear is a rare subspecies of the black bear. When visiting Princess Royal Island you might catch a glimpse of one. Wolves, Deer, Bald Eagles and numerous species of ducks and birds frequent the area throughout the summer.
Killer Whales frequent the area during May, June and July. We have some of the highest concentrations of Humpback Whales on the West Coast during the months of August, September and October. Grey Whales may also be seen during this time. Dolphins, Sea Lions, Otters and Seals are seen throughout the summer.

Truly get away from the stresses of everyday life by hiking though a calming rainforest to a secluded sandy beach. you'll marvel at the giant cedars as shafts of sunlight filter onto the dense ground cover of mosses and lacy ferns. The view as you leave the forest is incredible.

Miles of sandy beach, waves crashing onto the shore, giant driftwood logs waiting to be sat upon and soak up the solitude and tranquility. The tidal pools will keep the kids busy for hours. Enjoy a picnic lunch and take a walk searching for seashells, Japanese glass floats and other treasures.
